Roberto Carlos and O Grupo perform 'Maria, carnaval e cinzas' at the festival. The song was fairly 'regular' but went to # One nevertheless. Edu Lobo's 'Ponteio' the winner of the festival barely made it into the charts.

All the power to pop music! All the acts who took part in the 1967 Song Festival organized by TV Record in São Paulo. Never again would so many important Brazilian acts would be together in the same place posing for the same photo opportunity. From the left to the right: Nara Leão, Sidney Miller, Rita Lee, Arnaldo & Sergio, Argentine band The Beat Boys (in the back), Gilberto Gil, Marilia Medalha & Edu Lobo (they won 1st prize), Chico Buarque, Nana Caymmi, Caetano Veloso & a Beat Boy member (in back), Geraldo Vandré, Roberto Carlos, members of MPB-4 and Sergio Ricardo, the man who broke his guitar and threw it against the audience!
